The Shasta Trinity National Forest is open once again beginning today September 18. Unfortunately though the McCloud River is still very muddy for fishing.

Shasta-Trinity National Forest
Fire Restrictions
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a), and to protect natural resources and
provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited within the Shasta-Trinity National
Forest. This Order is effective from September 18, 2021, through December 31, 2021.
1. Building, maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire, or stove fire.
2. Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, or while stopped in an area
at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable material.
3. Operating an internal combustion engine off of National Forest System roads and
trails, except for boats on a water surface. 36 C.F.R. § 261.52(h).
4. Welding, or operating an acetylene or other torch with an open flame.
